This is the link to ‘Writers Bloc’, the blog that Mrs. Tan talks about in the latest (and last) episode of ‘A Rose by Any Other Name’. It features the works of HKIS students and is intended as a way to celebrate their achievements in writing outside of the classroom.
In response to the recent fervor over the hit UK television series Sherlock, Radio HKIS brings you one of the Sherlock Holmes classics, “The Musgrave Ritual” on radio drama.
This adventure is special amongst the stories of Holmes and Watson by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in that it is narrated by Sherlock Holmes himself. Holmes is called down to his friend Reginald Musgrave’s country estate to investigate the disappearance of his friend missing butler, Brunton.
Tune in this week for the full story.
Edmund Ho as Sherlock Holmes.
Martin Man as Reginald Musgrave.
Barton Liang as Dr. John Watson, Brunton, Alfred, and Man.
Sauman Cheng as Rachel Howells.
Many apologies to our devoted listeners for the long hiatus. But we’re ‘back in business’ now and plan on keeping it that way.
This week, The Gramophone, Episode III with Edmund will be featuring Jodie Chan (of Interim ‘gathering’ fame) and the band “Reggie and the Kids” (re-runs Monday 9:30pm, 10:30pm and Tuesday 5:00pm and 9:00pm). Another episode will be coming up on Friday.
Also this week will be The Soapbox with Barton on the positively viral Kony 2012 film. Will he be able to bring himself to express approval? Tune in at 10:30am tomorrow to catch the rant.
Check our tumblr or Facebook page later this week for more updates on the broadcast schedule!
(Martin) Apparently there were some technological failures in the United States so that is why the airwaves have been silent this week. Quite sorry for the tragic disappointment to those of you who were eagerly awaiting something. We guarantee we’ll be right back on track next week with brand new stuff, and also the brand new stuff that was supposed to broadcast this last week.
Meanwhile, here are some of the ‘best bits’ from the first recording of ‘A Rose by Any Other Name’, complete with tuba invasions and wranglings with the god of technology as compensation for your patience. Be ready to have the ‘mystique’ of what you can’t see when you’re listening to our voice completely shattered.
As mentioned in the debut broadcast of A Rose by Any Other Name, here are the works by Thomas Ruan and Aidan Cheng that were featured.
